1812 Bust 50c on ebay

How would others rate this 1812 Bust 50c? Is there damage on the reverse or is that just a random surface discoloration? Thanks.

My thoughts on it:
For MS60 hole filler looks ok for me. Reverse looks like surface abrasion not damage in my view. Otherwise holder indicate damage?
CPG MV is 2250 so high wholesale bid might be say 1800 if must have. My target wb get it around 1440 or less what same coin / holder no went for in mar 2019. This is not some cornerstone MS 65 or 66 coin so would not want bid very high.
It’s not a coin that excites me in that grade nor would I want pay lots for it. Frankly if spending that wb bidding on other things. Don’t believe it’s easy sell either. Wb afraid getting buried in it. Few coming in bourse room can afford it others want MS63-65 USGTC close to BV. For sell would put 2000 (discount) red price tag on it (show special).
Don’t care for it. I bought a 53 a few months ago. PCGS cac and looks much better than the one linked, IMO. Much less money as well.
The main thing about this piece that bothers me is that it’s ugly as all hell.
Looks like it sold on HA last spring for around $1400.
Yuk. I hate the splotchiness and the ugly spots on the reverse. The area around eagle's left wing and head may very well be damage.

Below average and off quality coin in my opinion. Avoid! Never buy coins that your eyes immediately tell you is messed up. Every time I did that (many in the past), I knew the coin was not nice when I bought. When selling essentially always a significant loss. Nice 1812s are easy to find and plentiful in MS62 to MS64. Resale much easier with PCGS. Just trying to help. PCGS MS62 can be bought 1200 to 1300 currently.
I have seen this passed around on eBay for years. There is a reason it keeps Getting listed. I personally wouldn’t pay more than a number that’s already been passed in this auction. That’s just my opinion.

I call this a "D" coin. Coinsandpaper has better coins up for auction like this 1812 Bust. I've seen some real nice coins
they've put up for auction.
I stopped buying "C" coins 2 years ago, only B&A now!

That's not a nice CBH. You can find AU-58s that look much nicer for a lot less money. Lower MS coins can be readily found as well. Stick to nice coins, otherwise you will harm yourself in the long run
If you honestly were considering buying that CBH, then I recommend you spend some additional time looking at nice, original CBHs. Seek out coins on specialist websites and look for CAC-approved CBHs.

Not a coin I would consider.... something has been 'almost' completely removed on the reverse....that is what that 'splotch' represents....Cool year history-wise, but I do not like the marks on both obverse and reverse. Cheers, RickO
