Lightning strikes twice! 1961 Proof Franklin DDR FS-801!

I cherry-picked one of these about 2 ½ years ago on Ebay that graded a top-pop PR67 (there is one 67+). I never thought I would see another, but last week this one popped up as a BIN and I grabbed it. Yep, it’s the “Big One”. I think it will go 65 +-1 (some spots on the obv), but who knows??? Anyway, after getting shut out of the Enhanced Proof ASE, this more than makes up for it!
Note: If anyone is interested in this in its OGP, let me know, otherwise it’s going in with my next submission

Nice pick up! Real nice pics also!
Good for you! I have also been fortunate to find multiple examples of this tough DDR - but I found mine all at once in a run.

Awesome find.
Yes indeed.
This is the intersection of knowledge and hard work.
Congrats on snagging your second 61 Proof DDR. You have a good eye and are persistent.
Look out for #3 and may it be a 68 DCAM.
I bought a 1961 OGP set at a local shop 8 years ago yesterday because the half looks like a possible Cameo. When I looked at the half a few hours later I discovered it is the big DDR. Quite a thrill for me.
Been lookin' for that one for nearly 30 years. Have never found one.
Nice find... Congratulations on a good catch....Let us know what it grades... Cheers, RickO
Good example. Congratulations. That nickel could use some help though!
