Possible 1909 P VDB ???

Sooooo newbie here again lol. I did a little wheatie coin roll hunting today and found what I think could possibly be a 1909 P VDB. Now I know the coin is in horrible condition and that the value is next to nothing (not worried about it), I was more or less seeking opinions on it being a VDB or not. To me, it's in the correct place and has the correct shape and you can kinda sorta make out the letters (though they be VERY worn).

The rim is too close to the VDB. Coin may not be genuine. What does it weigh?
Yes, it is a VDB.

It looks like a coin with the VDB partially worn into. It may be a very slightly off center strike or the coin could have picked up some damage early in its circulation life (which was very long). It looks genuine to me.
I think it's good and it just has a well-worn and flattened rim.

Looks good to me. Congratulations!
Now where is that spare S....
I found a high grade VDB within the past year that obviously had not circulated much if at all, and once I saw the VDB I kept straining to find an S. I wasn't happy enough with a 1909 VDB in circulation - I had to be greedy.
No kidding right? I thought I was trying hard enough just to see the "VDB" haha I'll chalk this up to beginners luck as this was my first time coin roll hunting.
Thanks everyone for your input!
I haven't found an '09 VDB in change since the early 1960's. While the grade isn't much it is a very unusual find as the coin is now 110 years old. Your report plus the two recent finds of Flying Eagle cents while roll hunting is very, very unusual. The heirs must really be dumping a lot of 1960's era coin folder collections back into circulation!
Unfortunately, I haven't found anything of interest in my change in years.
Definitely a VDB....nice find.....
Looks like it was once an encased cent thus the wide flat rims.

Welcome to the forum @Kreaton how much did you buy it for?
@Kreaton....Welcome aboard.... Nice find... The rims are a bit flat, but that can happen... I can definitely see the VDB...Cheers, RickO
Nice find and I definitely see the VDB,

That's because the rim is worn down. Look how wide it is.

He said he was roll hunting bulk wheaties.

Many of these coins come with a very wide rim and folks think they have a proof strike. I've never seen a coin with sharp wide rims smashed up into the VDB. That's all.
It's looks genuine to me.
How much was the “bulk” wheaties?
I gave $10 for 2 rolls, basically broke down to $1/coin. Which is probably paying to much lol they're just pennies, but for $10 and 100 chances I figured why not? Supposedly they were bank rolls from the 50's that haven't been touched since, but who really knows? The roll paper looked original and not messed with so maybe its legit, If I remember correct I found a 1911 P, 1918 P (x2), 4 or 5 from the 20's and, 8-10 from the '30s, and the rest were all 40s and 50s coins.
That is way too much. Of course, if you don't have a local store, hard to get them cheaper with $6 shipping

I think he meant 10 cents per coin......
Math hurts my head sometimes hahaha
Looks real to me. Coin is pretty worn. That same effect appears on Buffalo Nickels too. It can be sometimes difficult to figure out what mint the coin came from.
