Does original Mint Set toning like this appeal to you??

I'm working on a Walker Set that started as a diversion and has gained steam in the last year. I set some parameters and accept that for some of the early dates, 1918-1923, I may be in a little deep and unable to afford completion. I'm hoping for AU58's through 1933-S and Mint State grades from there to completion with an original look and not "monster tone" a focus.
I added the two below in the past few months and thought they looked pretty nice, solid for the grade with a look I have seen in Mint Sets for the date. Do you think I did OK or is the "look" not something that strikes your fancy??

So, not that it really matters, but you get a thumbs up from at least one "Walker" guy.
what is peculiar about the tone is that with the Mint Sets and the two coins of each date/mm being reversed the tone isn't the same on both sides. with these two, which I assume came from the same set, the obverse of the 1947-P matches the reverse of the 1947-D and the 1947-D obverse more closely matches the reverse of the 1947-P. I assume that is because each of the matched surfaces were in contact with the same packaging material which yielded the color.

No. The toning patterns are unattractive and ,to me, equal negative eye appeal. The only toned coins I like are those with pleasing toning patterns and colors.
Personally, I find that type of toning distracting.
I know...It's completely original, and therefore should be acceptable, and maybe even desired. But I like the design and details of coins, and this toning takes away from that for me...
But, as always, different strokes for different folks!
I like them both. I love original toned and crusty coins as well. Do you have your Walkers in a Registry set?
I can appreciate the originality, but neutral on the appeal of their appearance. I’m guessing that there is blazing luster peeking through.
I like the obverse of the first and the reverse of the second.
I am not a fan of this kind of toning. To me it looks dirty.

While both coins look to have good luster, from the photos the eye appeal is negative to me.
When first seeing the obverse of the 47 P and the reverse of the 47 D my initial thought was "yellow snow"

100% original and un-played with. I like that.

Original Walkers are TOUGH to find and are only getting tougher. I'll go on to say that I DO like your strategy and think that you'll have a very pleasing, quality set when you're done.

I just recently picked this one up. Looks very similar, and I am convinced it is of mint set origin. PCGS65
Regardless of eye appeal, I think it's objectively pretty cool that you have two matching looks in a set. That they're in the same year, and tell the mint set toning story, adds something as well.

I'm not a big fan of splotchy toning. I'm sure they're original and worthy.

Yes, I like this type of toning. I like the subtle differences from coin to coin and obverse to reverse.
It looks like there was/is some nice color but looks like the toning has progressed too far to me and starting to take over.
