The Most Expensive Off Center Cent ... Now for Something Completely Different!

I scan hundreds of error coins every day. Prices, Coins and oddities stick out to me.
I passed over this coin many times because of the outrageously high price for a certified PCGS Off Center Cent.
I hardly ever open up these overpriced items.
But, ......
I did notice the same seller had other high priced coins that were very nice? Hmmm????
Maybe perhaps I should check out this overpriced PCGS Off Center Cent.

I think they meant stuck on the obverse, didn't they ?
It's different......
No
It never hurts to check something out. That is a real nice looking error.
Wait till you see the reverse!!!
What are you waiting for - do you have to develop the photos in a dark room?
Looking forward to your pictures... that is an impressive error.... Any history on where it was found?? Cheers, RickO
Well, I think we can safely assume that this is one of the "legit" errors.

Fake! It’s a staple! Not a wire bristle.

Call it what you want.......................but DON'T call it common.

Now THAT has to be unique.
I made a bunch of those years ago as Christmas tree ornaments... How'd you get one?
"Conveniently configured to hang on any wall!"
Wish my soldering iron didn't scorch through to the obverse
BTW....I had to think hard in a different thread where it was stated that, "With error coins, grade usually means NOTHING" (paraphrasing). Not being an error collector, it didn't click at the time....
I think that phrase applies here. Just try to find higher graded one!
How did this happen? What’s the wire from?

Any chance the staple/bristle was embedded after the coin left the mint?
@BLUEJAYWAY : No, no chance.
So did you buy it?
I couldn't not buy it
What was the price tag?
