This is an interesting claim, anyone know if it's true?
"It is rare that it is the only one out of all the ones that have been graded to be graded at a PR 68 by PCGS.
From my understanding, coins of this grade were not meant to be released."

I have not heard anything about the mint not releasing a coin due to grade... Especially since the mint does not grade coins...Nor do they submit them for grading prior to release. More phony sales hype....IMO....Cheers, RickO
His understanding is wrong. No way are mint employees breaking the loupes out to examine 30,000 of these.
What a #@$% (fill in the blank with your own description) - (the seller, not the OP
).
Sounds like he is trying to put a spin on his bad luck at getting a lower grade than most of them.
Sort of reminds me of the poor soul who had his sealed box of 2011 SE sets graded and one of the coins came back AU. The speculation is that it had broken out of the capsule during shipment (as some had done) and it rattled around in the case enough to put some rub on the high points.
That's what I was thinking too; it didn't make sense and the bids are increasing the auction pretty high.
I meant more about the seller's statement, "coins of this grade were not meant to be released." The statement that it's harder to get is fine but the coins of this grade were not meant to be released is misleading.
Yes, "fool" was not the best word - it was better than some of the alternatives I was coming up with.
He is indeed trying to make the best situation, but it sounds like he is trying to hype his coin as some sort of rarity when in fact it is simply on the lower end of the scale.
At least he didnt mentioned about founding it in a 200 year old safe.
On a related note, I hv sold quite a few lower graded W quarters (think MS 62 or lower) and the ending prices are comparable to a MS 64.
This is a steal $2425.00. Prices dropping?
