Vintage Dansco 7070 album - what might it be worth?
I've acquired a vintage Dansco 7070 album from a local coin shop and I am trying to figure out what it might be worth among all of the different incarnations of the Dansco 7070 over the years.
This album doesn't appear to have ever been used to store coins, but it wasn't stored very well, as there is a half-dollar sized, faded whitish colored mark on the back cover (as if someone had set something on top of the album and left it there for years) and a minor scuff or two, and a ding on the top of the rear cover. I used Armor All on the cover and it brought it back nicely. I'm sitting on the fence as to whether to sell it or start filling it, and I promised myself no new projects TM. Yeah, right!
Anyhow, this album is pre-Bicentennial era and the most modern coin slot in it is for the Eisenhower dollar with the slot dated 1971. Here's are the holes featured:
Half Cents - Draped Bust, Turban Head & Liberty Head (Coronet);
Large Cents - Draped Bust, Turban Head, Liberty Head (Classic) & Liberty Head (Coronet);

An interesting find to say the least, although I had actually gone there to look at a couple of Canadian coins!

Pics would be nice. Aside from that, any completed ebay auctions?
Click on this link to see my ebay listings.
The Gold page is worth more than the rest of the album.
I'll post photos at some point. I didn't see any auction results for this particular version. The oldest one I could find was for the album with the page for the Bicentennial issues.
Interesting comment. Why would that be? Are the gold pages no longer made?
Hope this link below helps.

Is the Ike dollar space labeled 1971 or 1971-
?

No Hyphen.
Not sure. I know they reprinted the 7070 album, but page 5 (gold page) is super hard to find.
Sounds like a nice specimen...however, not sure of the long term effect of Armor All on the material. If you are not interested in a new project, just list it on the BST...Cheers, RickO
I had a fairly old 7070. Think I sold it to someone on the OFR.
Red vinyl cover and parchment pages with cool borders.
I had one for Hong Kong (full .... ) That I should have kept with the coins. Even had the 1866 dollar.
It was also red but the pages were fabric. Textured reddish maroon fabric that REALLY set off the coins.
Ah well.
I thought about that before I applied the Armor All, but the cover was dull and lifeless, so it does look a heck of a lot better. Long term, who knows, but I didn't pay a lot for it so I'm not too worried. Worse comes to worse I'll just replace it with a blank album cover.
