I got this today, I love these old holders but this coin is actually nice, too.
A nice widget for under $50 :)

I got it from Skyland Coin in Bristol, VA
Has anyone here been there before? It was my first visit and a pleasant one. πŸ‘
I’ll likely go back next time I’m in that area.

Very nice, a nice bonus that the rev label is intact.

Then he goes on to say β€œold” holder....as someone who collected long before there were any holders, now I’m offended!

You won’t find a full strike on a 1944 S but this coin has remarkable luster and originality and the old holder is intact, including the hologram. I don’t see any major marks or distractions, either. All this for under 50 bucks is a major score.

You struck a good deal, Great luster, probably a higher grade than ms 63. Good Job πŸ‘

That thumb is nowhere to be seen! lol :D
I read that this particular issue was known for weak strikes and mine is a textbook example. That's probably why it's only a 63 because the luster is awesome and the fields are pretty decent. I still like the coin a lot regardless. :)

Looks like a candidate for a gold sticker.

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

It is if you see what people pay for gold stickers on old holders!

Sure, if you can do a bulk shipment (with other prospects), then it might be a good idea.
