Those are some sweet looking $20's. Nice pieces. I like the look of the 57. I would send them in. Good job.
If selling a Gold CC and an early $20,most definitely. If keeping .....holding a raw gold piece is much more satisfying than one in plastic
Nice coins. Send them in to get graded. Let us know how they do.

The 1890-cc looks pretty wholesome and borderline MS 58/61 as long as that slice on star 12 is on the holder, not the coin. Piece of tape residue? The 1857 has sort of a polished/shiny look from the photo. It might not be though as the reverse seems ok. Always good to get graded as you get them proven genuine and possibly at a higher grade than you figured. The 90cc will certainly bring a lot more in a graded holder than being raw like this. The grading fee will pay for itself. Piggy back the XF/AU 1857 to save on separate postage.

Here is another pic of the 1890cc outside the holder...
I like them both a lot. I would send them in if for no other reason than authentication in the event you ever want to sell them. They will both fit very nicely in a gold type set.
it's crackers to slip a rozzer the dropsy in snide
Keeping them do whatever, selling them, submit.
Authentication seems reasonable and will probably help if sold. Both are EF with the 1890-CC being the better of the two. As for numbers -- meh...
The 1890-CC looks AU58 to me. Please note, I am giving my opinion, rather than stating the grade as a fact.

I’d say the 1890CC is an AU55 straight grade. The 1857 is AU50 detail. I’d send both in for grading...
not your typical generic $20 pieces. Send them in.

I agree with @MFeld that the👇1890-CC looks like it may grade AU-58, in which case it would be very commercially worthwhile & beneficial to send in for certification & grading.😁👍

Yes, I would submit both.
Mr. Brown
I would send them both in for grading. I especially like the CC she looks so minty fresh! Nice type set pieces, congratulation.
Agreed..
My recommendation is to submit them for grades.....They are nice old gold pieces and a slab will enhance their value and protect them from further degradation. Cheers, RickO
Not to beat a dead horse, but I would submit them as well.
Any other thoughts on the grades of each of the coins?
Currently, the grade opinions range from (1890cc) XF to MS61 and (1857) from details to AU50-ish.
Any other opinions on grade?
62 on the 1890
60 on the 1857

Send them to be graded. They are material enough in value to justify the cost. If they were mine I would want to know what PCGS would grade them plus have them slabbed so can value especially if goal to sell / get top dollar.
Just curious on the history of the coins, those are tough coins to find.
There's not a huge price swing on the 1857 in AU grades... I;m thinking 55 Details (old cleaning?) on it... But the 1890-CC is easy 5-figures in 62 according to coinfacts and recent auctions... a conditional rarity?? Even at 58 (which is where I think it would grade) it's a fantastic piece. Getting it certified through our host is definitely worth the price of admission!

58 and 53
I would be very pleased with an AU58 and AU53!
I think the 57 is a bit of a scarcer date too isn’t it?
The 1890cc is a bit better too i think with a mintage of just 91K.
I plan to keep them, but I still think it might be wise to get graded even though I surely do love raw gold...
Looking at other AU55 examples graded PCGS, it looks like mine is more like a AU58 ???
...there are a lot of 55’s with way less luster and detail...
Keep or sell, regardless, need authentication for peace of mind and potential future inreases.
Keep us posted on the grades, I think there are potential buyers here 😜. It is always nice seeing fresh coins that you can hold in your hand. They are still out there. Best of luck 🍀
Grading results are in !!!!!
Weirdest PCGS holder I've ever seen...

: ). Yeah, sorry. It’s only plastic... ANA membership perk and 3 day service... oh well 🤷🏻♂️.
Nice score Leeroy. Looks like I graded the 90cc accurately but missed it on the 57. Good luck at CAC!!!
you did well.thanks for the update
I know. The letters of PCGS were extremely deformed it looks like NGC

Congratulation on buying two raw coins and knowing what will grade. 👍🏻
Excellent addition to your collection.
