1971 Proof Cent Doubled Die

Recently bought a 1971 proof set hoping to maybe find a doubled die nickel. Well, there was a minor doubled die nickel in the set but you can imagine my surprise when I saw this coin. Appears to be the FS-101 (032) version. Kinda made my day, to say the least!

So cool and quite a coincidence! I found a 71-S FS-101 last week! Fingers crossed she'll pull a DCAM. My example is clearly a "Stage B" specimen. And yeah, I realize this is a shytie cellphone photo, I'll break out the D-800 later today and take a better one. Are you considering submitting yours or ?

I also found one many years ago. None since.

From what I can tell mine looks to be stage A with the die dent in the column bay on the reverse. How much are these worth? Guess that would determine if it is worth submitting.

Very nice. Dramatic doubling on LIBERTY, and well above average on the date.

Previous eBay sales show a PR66 RD starts around $450-$500, and of course CAM and DCAM, along with higher grades, push the needle higher. I'm thinking my little guy should pull a PR67 CAM with a solid chance of a DCAM.

Way to go! Yours looks to have more cameo than mine. Wishing you luck with your submission.
