The biggest screen where you can see the entire screen at once without having to move your head. So it would change based on the size of the room and how far away you are.

I rock a 55, at this point I consider myself spoiled and would not think about a smaller TV

Between 50 and 55. Not too big and not too small.

IT CAN'T BE A TRUE PLAYOFF UNLESS THE BIG TEN CHAMPIONS ARE INCLUDED

Yes, I always enjoy the Fox NFL Sunday pre game show, especially when they show the Terry Bradshaw puppet. I believe the puppet actually has it's own twitter account.

We have not bought a new TV in years, and I can't say exactly the sizes of ours. Both about 50" - 52" I think. It's fine for viewing. When the Patriots are not my local game or a national game, I have to stream them. Even though I could connect it to the TV, I usually end up watching these games either on a laptop, PC, or even my phone. So I can say for sure that the smaller size screens are not as good.

As hard as this may be to be believed...

My neighbor has an ELEVEN FOOT WIDE tv! He has a second story home, which could really be called a loft which is where he has his "theatre" He has spent untold thousands of $$ to sound proof, add crazy good speakers, 4 reclining (at the touch of a button) cushy and comfortable "seats". The floor kinda rumbles a bit when there's an action scene, or explosions. The picture is difficult to describe...it just causes you to have an "Oh My God" moment when you first sit down to watch. Football is just off the chart incredible to watch.

His thought on the whole thing is "some people do cocaine, I do tvs". He has to have well over $100k in his system, but oh, OH what an experience to watch!!!

As for the OP, I think 55" kinda hits the sweet spot. It's a function of distance relative to the picture, something like 12 feet from the screen is about optimum...unless you have a man cave and more room.

I like my 60". It's a much better seat than any seat at the Game and is free and I can stop it when needed if you know what I mean. B) And my drinks are not 10 bucks nor the Hot Dogs for 10 bucks. I will NEVER go to another game of any sport. It's crazy!

I wish I could stop my TV. Unfortunately my wife is going to have to understand, it's 4th and goal dear, and it's for the win. We'll schedule something after the game. ;)

I think it depends on room size and how far away from the screen you sit. I have a 47" Vizio and our heads are about 13 feet away on the couch. I could get something bigger but the house is old(1880) and doesn't have wall space that could take anything much larger.

that's another thing, in this day and age I believe a TV absolutely has to be on the wall with its center at right around 5 feet, no strain on anyone's neck when you're sitting and easy to watch standing up.

We got a small 19 inch in our kitchen and it’s unwatchable for me, my girl likes it on when she is cooking though

I have a 32" Samsung and my head is 4 feet away when I watch TV.
As close as I can get while still being comfortable in my recliner.

And edited to say the irony does not escape me Coinster.

The irony was actually the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title and who posted it.
I just forgot to mention it before the edit. LOL.

You still hate football right? And you refuse to watch? Or am I thinking of a different coinstartled?

    Settle down grasshopper.

I did not mention "NFL" anywhere in the title or body. I am still a fan of the college game.

The bigger the better, given the size of the room.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

32" Sony here. College football only.

The refs do a much better job on a smaller set.
