Northcoin said "Please post that for the whole board on Monday, Veterans Day. Definitely worth a half hour or so to watch"

And, reminded by @northcoin , I am re-posting this here.

Enjoy and thank a Veteran today :)

Cockpit video of F-18 Super Hornet pilots as they conduct operations from the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65). Naval aviators with Strike Fighter Squadron 211 (VFA-211) "Fighting Checkmates" and Strike Fighter Squadron 11 (VFA-11) "Red Rippers" are filmed launching, landing, and flying over the Enterprise

Thank you to all of the brave men and women who have served! I work for a company that makes special boat parts for the Navy, and I’m honored to be able to support our servicemen and women.

From left to right: my Great Uncle Tony, KIA at Peleliu in September 1944; my Grandfather Ed, Purple Heart in Korean War; my Dad, served 1974-82. I'm a Marine baby, born at Camp Pendleton.

I recently found my Great Uncle Tony's registration card:

My father in law was one of thirteen brothers who served. Can you imagine? His parents had fourteen boys in a row (one died in infancy) before finally having a girl and deciding that was enough. All thirteen boys served, all made it back alive--including a bomber pilot and a machine gunner on Iwo Jima.

We are like children who look at print and see a serpent in the last letter but one, and a sword in the last.
