Obverse strike is great. Reverse Eagle breast looks weak. I'm just not sure about this one, but waiting for the experts to chime in before voting.
Where are the AU choices?
Nice GTG. Thanks.
Gem obverse. Then the reverse....and its weaknesses.
You're absolutely right.....I should have thrown that in as a ringer....too late, now.

Agree.
Almost looks like two different coins....still, I guessed 64, thinking the obverse will carry the overall coin grade.
Exactly. .. I thought 65 on the obverse and 63 on the reverse. .. so I took the average... 64...

Can't vote. No option for AU.
Well... I think it has enough positive to carry the grade.... I have been wrong before....

Write-in ballot.
. If anyone else thinks it’s AU, please feel free to say so. Thanks.

I think the normal thing to assume is that if there aren’t any au grade choices, that’s not one of the correct answers.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
But..... I think I see rub, and want to guess AU58!
Thanks for playing! It's an NGC 64. I thought about purchasing this coin, back in 2016, but it sold for a real premium, which was out of my comfort zone for the grade, at that time. I love the strike and the fields look clean and lustrous enough to be called gem. It looks original and is in an old #7 slab (been entombed for 20+ years). However, the marks up the central obverse along with the weak reverse limit it to MS 64, imho. This coin was a real learning experience (grading-wise) for me. I am STILL waiting for this piece to show up, in a PC65 slab, but it has been almost 4 years and has yet to happen, at least not that I am aware of.

Looks gorgeous in that slab shot!
Very unusual to see strike weakness on the reverse like that, in that location. I’ve only seen a few over many years of collecting. I have a 17D rev in my trading stock box even more dramatic than this one.
Perfect example of "buy the coin" not the holder, or given grade...
Not to me, it isn’t. From what I can see in the images, the coin looks accurately graded.
Far batter examples of “buy the coin, not the holder” would be 1) a Mercury Dime graded FB, where the bands aren't full; 2) a coin that looks as if it received an extra two points for attractive color or 3) a coin in an off-brand holder that’s all there for the grade.
