How to improve how we encapsulate and display coins

Digital images can be used to display much more than 2 sides of an object.
When a coin or banknote or medal is digitally photographed with high resolution, using the appropriate image processing software, the resulting digital files can be used in so many ways that will enhance the ownership experience and marketability of the object of art.
The plastic holder needs to be minimized to the point that it resembles a standard 10 cent mint capsule - where feasible. The technology to encapsulate and encode data on a very small space is readily available.
A larger viewing holder / carrier / display unit (non-slab) can hold the sealed coin and provide a more traditional way of “holding the slab”. We can can get into much more technical detail - as science and engineering are my work life.

@HJP....I understand the concept of your suggestion, however, if you could elaborate further on how the data would be provided and linked to the coin/holder it would help. Cheers, RickO
If you want to do this, fine. What makes you think the rest of us do?
There are plenty of old-time collectors who like to handle their coins and don't even like slabs. What makes you think they care a whit about your digital images?
There is nothing preventing you from doing whatever imaging you want to do.
If you don't like slabs. Don't buy them.
Well, the bar code / querty image contains lots of data. The digital image data can be linked to the bar code or cert number.
The encapsulation technologies available are varied and it will depend on cost on how to move this concept forward.
In my “real work” we use all kinds of digital image capture and image processing software- some of which is highly proprietary. As are many of the next generation of art displays we have in mind...
The design of “better packaging” is a separate but integrated task...
Can this thread be moved to my other one?

Ok, @HeatherBoyd, please move this thread to the one I stated previously.
I need to pay attention to where to respond to comments
