MOON Show purchase - 1901-S Barber Quarter

Went to the MOON show in the Twin Cities Saturday.
After countless years of saving and searching for the best coin for me, I purchased
an 1901-S Barber Quarter in PCGS VG8. I was hoping for a G4, maybe G6.
But I couldn't pass it up.
Absolutely, no regrets.

Sorry about the picks. Something I'm working on

Everything is all right!

If it’s a gold shield, it probably has one. Even some non gold shield have them so it’s always a nice idea to check your cert number :)

Neat coin brings back a lot of memories: (I like the amount of liberty still visible on this one)

First one I ever bought was a pcgs G-6, then upgraded to a pcgs f-12 (the old green one shown on here over the years)
and now the one I have now. (that several love ,and some don't)

Wow, I just looked up the cert number and even as a very solid VG, there are only 134 that have been graded any higher at PCGS! I bet even some of those are crack outs! NGC has graded a mere 20 at that level with only 42 graded higher!!

Awesome....it’s such a good feeling when you finally find ‘the coin’ after many years of searching. Looks like a nice strong example of a VG8, which are damn hard to locate. Congrats. So, are you working on a full quarter set?

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.

Congratulations! Nice looking with honest wear. Is this your last hole that needed filled in your Barber quarter set?

This was the last Barber coin needed for a complete business strike of
the Barber dimes, quarters, and halves.
Took me many years and lots of saving to complete.

The rest of the show was good picked up some earlier slabbed MS Lincolns.

Very nice pickup indeed! It's a coin I'm missing for my Complete Everyman's Barber set.

    I love them Barber Halves.....

Nice score on a touch key date. The reverse, in my opinion, is closer to vg10 while a lack of laurel detail on the obverse seems to keeps it at a vg8. Beautiful!
