1879-CC $1- Help with identifying possible damage?

Appreciate your help and opinions. Thanks in advance.

  1. Does the circled area (below right wing) looks like a plugging? What could be it?
  2. PCGS55 - is $2,700 a good price?

    It does not look like a "plugging". It is possibly a bit of "slag" in the planchet that was struck flat.

    PS:
    The coin appears to be a VAM-2B which is fairly scarce but probably not a big premium over a normal 1879-CC $1.
    The pictures are a little over-exposed but it looks like it could be a pretty nice one. Recent Heritage auction results indicate a possible value in the range of $2,500 to $3,200.

    Looks like something similar on the eagle's breast about where the spleen would be (do eagles have a spleen?) and agree with DC that this looks like some kind of an inclusion in the silver.
