    I bought this from Russ many moons ago... it's since been green beaned. Still one of my favorite Morgans.

    Gotta be scarce. Fatties usually cracked / coins submitted seeking higher grade.

    @Meltdown Love it! The coin and the slab....Great that you are preserving it.

    That looks VERY original.

    Pretty sure at least one of these qualifies.

    Depends on the coin inside. I have made and sold probably 6 gold CAC mercury dimes in soapbox holders and have another 3-4 in my collection. Buffaloes in fatties w/ gold cac's are also common. Same with morgans...

    @btcollects , nope.
    This is a specialized holder system called Intercept Shield from a company called Leuchtturm.

    Coin collectors are picky about when they want a coin to tone or stay toned, and when they want a coin to stay "white".

    Intercept is supposed to neutralize some of the elements which effect the surfaces of coins, in an effort to keep toned coins at their current level of toning (hopefully without getting darker), and to keep white coins from becoming unattractively toned. Some people swear by them. I haven't used the system long enough to make a judgement, but figure it's inexpensive insurance for a nice collection.

    Like your wonder Peace Dollar, the REALLY pretty ones were always out of the intercept.
    They were a PITA.
