There are numerous dot raising and a large flake between IN and GOD on the observe also on the letter G. Cant find any variety and It does not appear to be a plating blister. Could represent accidental die damage, but its perfectly circular shape would be unusual for such an error. But the odd one is he large flake surrounded by dots.

Based on the even spacing the “dots” might be hits from the reeded edge of another coin if they are incuse.
How can this happen. Any though about the large raise splash in the center of these dots.
Looks like glue to me.
Residue on the coin.
Collector, occasional seller
Absolutely, residue of some kind. Here is the result.
Thanks
So why are you wasting time on the coin?
Move on find another.
FYI nickels are a solid alloy, not plated. Only Lincoln cents since 1982 are plated. (Some 1982 are copper alloy)
Hope that helps
Eureka... you found the 'solution' Did you use acetone to remove the substance?? Cheers, RickO
Yes,
Ben non RicKO, I did not use acetone.
Rinse in running warm tap water and air dry. Never clean a coin that I've learn.
