OT: spoof eBay emails? promo email, and notifications

Hello, I realize this is somewhat off topic from US coins but my use of eBay directly relates to US coins. I buy and sell US coins on eBay.
My problem is that I get emails supposedly from eBay all day long and all night long. I just got one that woke me up at 4:51 AM. The same email address (ebay@ebay.com) sends me purchase confirmations, notifications when I change my password, offers to lower the price on my listings, and the usual random eBay emails that are almost never helpful, like “you viewed X at $1,200, the price has been lowered to $1,099”.
A little frustrated before my morning coffee, I called eBay concierge in an attempt to get them to stop all the spam. I am a mobile user so when I go to the eBay website to try to change my communication preferences, it is just a vicious circle that takes me back to the mobile page and there is no true way for me to access the communication preferences from the phone. The service representative that I spoke with said that they could not change my communication preferences when I explained my problem further, they said that the emails were fake. I honestly do not believe that the emails are fake. The representative said that my eBay account and email account have both been hacked and someone has access to the information. Again I do not believe this. As soon as I changed my password this morning I got a email from the same address saying my password was changed I got a email from the same address asking me to lower the price of an item I’m selling, at the same time that eBay sent iMessage to my eBay account. So I’m left wondering if it is a spoof account that somehow knows instantly when eBay communicates with me.
Sorry to complain, that just don’t know if I am doing something incorrectly, or is everyone flooded With emails from eBay throughout the day and week.

That is the same email address I receive eBay messages from.
And that is standard. They send out a ton of emails. I also receive the ones about prices changes, items ending soon, random eBay promos, relisted items, etc. I believe most of these one just has to allow if you want to receive the bonus eBay bucks promos.
If you do want to change your communication preferences, have you tried going on your mobile browser and requesting the desktop version of eBay?

Yes I tried desktop version and I get as far as the link to communication preferences. When I click it I am instantly back on mobile at this cursed page...

I recieve similar eBay messages from that address, but not in large, annoying volumes. I use a desktop computer only, no phone stuff.
My only complaint is that I am often skipped for eBay Bucks special offers!

You woke up from an email like you get a ping on your phone from every email? Annoying eBay messages aside you gotta change that right away!
Change the push/pull settings for emails on your iphone. You have the push settings set to on.
I turn them off and only get emails when I request a pull, but, I prefer to check emails via desktop.
I usually get up at 4:30-4:40 during the week. I was excited for the chance to “sleep late” until at least 7-8 this morning, so when the ping notification happened at 4:51 I was up.
It has been 17 years since boot camp and still my mind is full throttle as soon as the alarm goes off in the morning, and I am wide awake. I definitely need to change some notification settings in my phone to prevent false alarms.

Most are legit (semi- in that they do come from fleaBay). Of course, lots of spam pretends to be fleaBay too...
You can dig into the headers to get some minimal level of confidence... stripping off my spam filters internal handling... start at the bottom and read up
These are the headers where the message finally escaped from fleaBay into somebody who is receiving mail for me:

If it has a DKIM sig that validates, it probably really is an email from fleaBay...

I do not sell on ebay... and only occasionally buy anything - however, I get plenty of these emails. I do not, however, keep my phone in the bedroom, so no chance of it waking me up....I will NOT be controlled by a phone...
