Thanks, I googled him. Saw he sold a collection in 2004. He must still be alive - yes?
I suspect you found the wrong Oliver on Google. He put together the finest known/possible type set (1792-1964) in the PCGS Registry and recently retired it. He recently chose to liquidate select coins.
Thanks, I googled him. Saw he sold a collection in 2004. He must still be alive - yes?
of course Im alive !!!I
I guess Insider2 thought selling off irreplaceable coins could give someone a heart attack... Good luck with your sales, but if those were mine someone would have needed to pry them from my cold dead hands.
The reverse of that cent looks like it could have been struck yesterday today!
Which one?
The TrueView. Of course, some antiquing would need to be done if it was struck today, but it looks hammered.
There are two different 1793 cents with very impressive reverses (as well as obverses), so I don’t know where the “of course” comes from.
Both cents are impressive, but the reverse of the first one looks especially well struck to me, check out the words "ONE CENT" and leaf details.
The "of course" is associated with antiquing not identifying a specific coin, hence "Of course, some antiquing". If it was struck today, it would be full red to start.

Google images is my friend. Now I believe it. You both look like you'll be around a long time.
I Just read the articles. We all should be glad you both became interested in coins! I'd really like to see some of Mrs. Jung's hammered coins too - bet she has a "rainbow" Uncirculated silver piece or ten.

I don't have any canned food but I was in Walmart earlier this morning and saw this bread,,,,,,, I bet I could get 50% off if I asked the manager,

Everything is relative. I'll bet you could trade it for a gold coin in the Bahamas!

But he also sold an amazing collection via auction (in 2004) previously.

Hansen did buy coins out the Jung Set and they were posted in the Hansen thread, just not if any of the early stuff like TDN has.

Fiddling...
2nd finest known at 62+. The True View makes it look AU, the in holder pics look solid 63.

The article @Justacommeman posted mentioned he married his wife in 2012 so I doubt it. You don't see many octogenarians getting married.
