An old counterstamp whose meaning will never be known.

What he says. Many counterstamps are just random tests of punches on a handy piece of metal.

Perhaps it was leftover when someone made a roll of dimes? :D;) Cheers, RickO

Carry it around for when the guy on the corner asks if you have any extra change.

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

Part of a set, “read all about it” on other dimes. Obviously a newspaper boys coin. 😉

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

Your counter stamp is out of this world. Not quite Extraterrestrial but EXTRA ordinary none the less.

This would be a good book for you. If you look you might find one. 476 pages of counter stamp coins. I will take a quick look but we’re talking a needle in a haystack!
I can’t read the stamp letters what does it say?

    TRA?
ZXTRA or is that a E?
    This is the outer cover.
