Oddly enough there are 2 coins I have always wanted and both are English Provincial (conder) tokens.
One is a silver proof, exceedingly rare. For the Red Lion Inn. First of all it took years fro one to come available,
which ended up in England, so I had. To stay up all night and hear and see the bidding live. It was down to me and one guy in the audience. The bidding was furious and many oooo’s and ahhhh’s could be heard. I really though I would lose this one.
But I stood strong, stepped up and know it’s mine forever while I’m on this planet.

The second one is also a Conder token. This design resonates with me on many levels. They are rare but not exceedingly.
But to find one that is really nice and has that super red/brown mix that I like took very many years.

I have always worked hard for my coins....and each one is special - so no pictures My CC Morgan series was a bit of a long haul though...Started with GSA's in original, unopened containers... then added a couple more...then it became a bit of an obsession until complete...I now tend to avoid series....much more relaxing. I was born in 1958, and love Franklins. There was one 1958 Franklin proof die pairing that produced an amazing black and white cameo contrast on both the obverse and the reverse. There were probably on the order of 12 - 14 of the proofs produced before the cameo contrast started to deteriorate. It took me 16 years to find one of the first few struck from the pair.

1863 Good For a Scent/Excelsior Club 22 Elm St Civil War Token. R-10

When I started collecting tokens and medals from Joseph Merriam, this piece was the show stopper. Unobtainable. The only known survivor from the American Civil War, and it was entrenched in a world class collection of exonumia.
Well, about 5 years ago this dream coin of mine became available, and I convinced the seller to give me some time (a lot of time) to pay for it.
My biggest purchase in the hobby, and I've never regretted it.
