I purchased this quarter recently to upgrade my existing 1835. I assume the toning is "natural", but am interested to hear from anyone who might educate me otherwise.

    Skillfully dipped long ago and entirely kosher secondary toning colors and patterns. I am not in love with the shadings on the reverse. A minute two degree shift in the angle of light capture and I might not be as discouraged about stickering by the flatness of the reflectivity under some of the coloration.

    I suspect it is closer to 66 than 58 and, even though the frost has a less reflective granular (rather than satin) texture, that it will dip out well enough that it would have loads of skin worth stickering :#

    I state these as reservations because I can't grade (that well) from pictures and have a sense I'm looking at a very nice coin :)

    @Eagleguy - that's satin skin with higher-intensity reflectivity characteristics. Both are CBQ's with blue toning and yet are apples and oranges in this particular technical analysis.. :)

    Yours came from "fresher" dies that produce more sex appeal and appears to "not suck that much" either. :#

    The color(toning) looks granule like it was applied with a spatula.

    Is that common?
