One regular forumite here, who also regularly advertises in The Numismatist, appears to show a 35 year ANA Membership silver medal in the September 2019 issue of the magazine. Does such a thing actually exist?
I did receive the 25 year Membership silver medal, but nothing later despite continued paying of the dues for an additional sixteen years. Just curious.

I got the 25th year medal but never got one on my 35th year. They do give out a 50th year medal in gold but it may be 10K or gold plated. I'll let you know in 11 years if I'm still alive.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.
I'm in the same boat - been an ANA member since 1976. Received my 25th year medal in 2001 but nothing for 35 years in 2011. Just seven years to go for the 50th, though.
Member ANA, SPMC, SCNA, FUN, CONECA
If I recall the recent show reports correctly, didn't one of our forum members just receive a 50th year medal at the last show? Cheers, RickO
Maybe it's a Typo?

I got my 50 Gold Membership medal at Rosemont this year.
Size? Any hallmarking/ indication of quality?
The medal is one inch in diameter. It is engraved with my name and Life Membership number. It is marked 999 fsgp ( fine silver gold plate ).
@golden Thanks for the info. Perhaps something to look forward to.
I got a 25-year pin, but never got a silver medal. Hmmm!
@shorecoll I received the 25 year silver medal, but that was back in 2003.
One thing since those days, the ANA has also tried vigorously to de-emphasize (and even to confuse) the membership numbers. The membership numbers used to be a great point of pride.
That's a 25 year medal photoshoped to read 35. It was 35 years in 2011. Now a 43 year medal is very hard to photoshop without a suitable 4-digit. I'll update it in 2016 when I get my 50 year medal.
@EagleEye Thanks for the response. I was half-expecting the Photo-shop answer, since the reverse of the medal shown in your ad was so much sharper than the obverse. Nice to know that I didn't miss anything. I am two years behind you in the total years as an ANA member, I don't know if the whole show will last that long, 2026 or 2028.
One thing is that some people have may different membership numbers. I'm wondering is this happens when people let their membership lapse to get the next incentive.
Congrats. Have you thought about getting it slabbed and TrueViewed by PCGS?
Interesting thought but no.
That's because membership continues to drop, while the number of staff (and their pensions when they leave) continue to increase.
I just looked up the composition of other medals and found some differences which was interesting to me.
I have Eric Newman's 50th anniversary medal issued in 1985 which is edge marked 10K gold. John Pittman's 1993 medal was unmarked in fineness, and now the ANA is issue gold plated silver. I wonder what were various compositions issued and what year the transitions occurred.
Here's some info on Newman's and Pittman's medal:
