I am buying platinum currently so expect it to continue to plummet
The ones I am looking at (one oz proofs) dont seem to be dropping in price, but dont seem to be selling either. I admit I have not looked extensively, just done some quick looking.
Now if only it would top $2,200 again. Way back then I was starting to feel like a rich guy. Still got it all, watched it drop and became immune to the variations in value.
If it somehow zoomed way up again, I'd probably not even think of selling .

Platinum is a boring metal. It’s dull gray like distressed silver and kind of heavy. It works really well in batteries and catalytic converters, but who looks for beauty in them? It also makes for a durable mounting for diamonds in rings, but it’s still boring. Gold and even copper are far more interesting.
$930 is boring?
I really happen to like it as a nice shiny metal and an investment, should I continue Bill?

I just got an ounce considering the relatively low price... Why not?

It’s cool seeing how dense it is, compared to the same bar in silver:

Exactly one reason I am not into Bullion. Plus I like coins MUCH better.
If I need to buy a bowl of soup during the hard times, gold or silver would probably be best for the transaction.

DIMEMAN. Why not kill two birds with one stone, buck it up, and buy some of that graded Mercury gold dime?!
Platinum looks like dull silver but feels like heavy gold.

I can't help thinking about the 2007 plat set. $1950 issue, then halted (?) and then like $2550 price...
You can get a set under $1400. Brutal.
Imagine anyone that bought Rhodium at $10,000. But as thin as that Market is I think it would be very hard to find anyone in that class.
And then in these tough post apocalyptic times you speak of, the guy who bought bullets instead of bullion will take your soup and gold.
The platinum proof coin has been the primary refuge of creative and inspiring artistry at the U.S. mint over the past quarter century or so.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
@ACop
It is prudent to have both.

Gold is fine for normal times. But the idea that silver and gold are better than bullets and beans....smh

I have about 15 ounces at 820$ averaged. I don’t ever see it being cheaper than that again. Even if it does not by much
I did it because I regretted not buying gold when it went back to about 820$ 10 or so years ago
