Please explain set registry GPA

So I’ll Be starting a PSA/DNA 1955 Topps set registry soon. I would like to know exactly what GPA is and what all is taken into account for it. I’m wondering if besides just getting the card authenticated is GPA boosted if you have the card graded and the autograph graded as well? I’ve been told the autograph grade does not effect GPA and I’ve been told it does. Need some clarification from people in the know. Thanks!

I don't agree with some of the ratings, so I gave up trying to figure it out.
Seems to me they put too much weight on a 10 (especially if there is only one) and not enough on the "oddball" cards that might be the only one graded, but has a lower number grade.
I am #2 in the Killebrew Master set. The #1 guy has handily me beat on 10's, but I have some important (?) cards he is missing and a higher completion %. There's other things to whine about (isn't there always? :-) ), but I wouldn't trade him "even up".
Often, a 10 doesn't look any better than a 9...........sometimes not as good!
Are you starting a PSA registry set with PSA/DNA red flip cards or are you starting a PSA/DNA registry set (old blue flips)? Pretty sure for the PSA side, auto grades mean nothing as a lot of those sets existed before auto grading was even a thing. For the PSA/DNA registry, I don't know, but it would make sense if they carried weight.
Reading the rules for the PSA/DNA registry, it looks like the auto grade is used for the GPA:
I glanced at a few checklists in the card section of the PSA/DNA registry, and it doesn't look like anything is weighted based on the degree of difficulty for certain autographs within a set or even difficulty for obtaining the card. All weights I saw were just 1.0. Kind of seems pointless...but the whole auto grading is pointless to me in the first place.
