If you check the holders against old auction listing photos it is easy to tell they a fakes. Rear labels are a good place to start and font on front labels.
I’f you compare the PCGS photo against the Ebay photo the Ebay picture look at the S in S$1 top right lines up and touches the L about half way. While the Heritage PCGS photo it does not do that. The S is not under or touching the L in 65DPML. Very interesting I wonder if the seller knows this?

Sold to the Lucky winner for $850.00!!!!!
So what are your thoughts is this person making the fake holders and putting real coins in them? Or is he buying them and unknowingly selling them. They do appear to be real coins just the holders seem off. Right?
It’s not like the seller is a newbie his feedback rating is over 2500. I just don’t have that knowledge to tell. Not sharp like you all! Has anybody asked the seller? I would be curious what they say if they would even respond.
"So what are your thoughts is this person making the fake holders and putting real coins in them?"
More than likely they are the higher end counterfeits out of China.
"Or is he buying them and unknowingly selling them."
Seller may be unaware but there is a very good chance he knows they are fake.
"Has anybody asked the seller? I would be curious what they say if they would even respond."
If they respond they will deny any knowledge.
Ifthevamzarockin thank you for your thoughts. Ohhhh my that is gonna be some upset Ebayers if that turns out to be true and if they ever find out. That would be the million dollar question. Then one day they sell and the vicious cycle continues. Scary stuff.

Thanks for the detective work! This is no minor issue. In conjunction with Chinese counterfeiters, It certainly appears that the seller is making a killing running a rather big operation here... Would like to confirm that eBay and PCGS are being made aware of this??? If no one has done so, I will.

I messaged the seller and included a link to this thread. My message to him did not include an assumption that he was knowingly selling switched coins, as it’s possible he was unaware of that. I am going to message EBay shortly, but the more, the better.

Good luck on getting EBAY to do anything when dealing with counterfeit coins. As long as it's beneficial to their bottom line they do not care. And this is sad The only defense we as collectors have is research and knowledge. As for PCGS, and other top grading firms, legal proceedings should have long begun against EBAY since this is a repeat occurrence by many sellers over many years.

That’s not all true, as eBay has removed a great many listings of reported counterfeit coins. And while I wish they would do more, they have also deleted the accounts of some of the perpetrators.

The seller has/had APO address so could be anywhere in the world. Most of their past sales are reconditioned laptops and not many coins.
I see a few positives for selling 100oz Engelhard silver bars. Or should I say lead filled bars? Doubtful ebay would even look at the issue unless buyers were demanding refunds.
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

Wooooha! Did someone just say it's officially "TACO™" Tuesday????
Interesting that the seller has received positive feedback just minutes after the sale, before the buyers could have possibly received these bogus coins:
Interesting that Ebay link does not appear to work any more at least for me it does not. Not sure why the link no longer appears for his Peace Dollar still works. The seller also does not have anything more to sell. I wonder if kalandaan (2858) Pulled the stakes and moved to a safer place. Here are a few of his other sale he yesterday its still showing, he was a busy person. Something is happening the other one now show's Error like the sale never happened but this one still went through.

Yes that is what I figured but why they left the other there? Did they really do that to stop him or is it a head fake? After all the other 3 I posted there fake too right? I don't know just asking. I figure once a scam/scumb@g always a scam/scumb@g. Plus they all have that Bold lettering on the PCGS Labels.

I sent him a message and he just answered me within minutes. Now I am confused he seems honest with his answer back to me. He has lots of coins to sell me and he ships to Alaska. Should I give him my home address? Of course I asked what State he was selling from he never did answer me back on that part. But he seems nice!
My guess would be that someone here reported the 1904 and gave them a link to this thread. With the photos attached they could see why it was a fake. Because the photo differences were not posted for the other coins ebay will have to research further before removing the listings.

I contacted Ebay. In sending them a message, you can only choose one item to reference and, yes, I sent a link to this thread. eBay must be staffed by lazy and/or dummies if they only acted on that one coin...
The serial number on his 'bad' slab is crooked in relation to the bar code. Look at the distance from the bottom of the first number, the 9, and the bottom of the last number, the 5.
Wow, good catch! I would not have bought the coin as it is unattractive to me as an MS65 DMPL, but I would have been fooled by the fake slab nonetheless.

Here are some links:
Seller has 100% feedback and is selling from the US in New Mexico, but with no returns.
Here are the auctions photos:
thanks @Zoins look at the previous results for the tag and compare to this one
Actually ALL his PCGS holdered coins are no good
Yeah, I noticed some differences.
Kind of scary that the bar code is approximately correct and the gasket ring looks like it is yellowing.
what if it was re-holdered in 2010?
Can PCGS confirm authenticity from the pics. If so then it's ok. If not it can still be reversed eventually. Did anyone contact the seller?

Not sure anyone can do anything about these. There seems to be no concerted effort to turn the tide on these.

Or some upset eBayers heirs.
Checking the sold/closed items there are about 90 items sold on 24 August 2019.
Very busy or what?
I would be interested in what PCGS has to say about these coins.... Certainly a major issue and a serious threat to collectors. Cheers, RickO
