Normal 1977 US dimes are 91.67% Copper and 8.33% Nickel.
The copper is especially visible on the edge as you noticed.

    Provide dimensions and weight please.

Since, I’m guessing you suspect you have a dime struck on a cent planchet.

Looks like a regular 1977 dime to me.

    You're up 9 cents. :)

  • It’s the same size as a dime . 2.4 g idk the dimensions. The pictures take away its color. I was just curious. It’s got luster. Some green on the back.

A cent should weigh around 3.11g & a dime should be around 2.27g Your coin is too light to be a dime struck on a cent planchet.

You made nine cents on your roll of cents (59 vs. 50)...No added numismatic value, standard '77 dime. Cheers, RickO

not unusual to find a coin of a different denomination in a secondary coin roll. These used coins get recycled and sent to the armored car carrier who re-rolls them for the banks. I occasionally find pennies in quarter rolls. I suspect the odd coin got tossed into the tub of coins to be rolled.

Only a fresh roll of newly minted coins is likely to contain an actual error coin of a different denomination.

    Stop the presses.
