I used to be a huge Orioles fan in the late 90’s, Ripken’s heyday. Got to meet him a couple times, really seemed like a stand out guy. Sadly I rarely follow any sports other than my beloved terrible Miami Dolphins now. 🙄

Proudly displaying my 8TF tattoo at 13,000 ft. last summer. Yes, I had my 3 pocket pieces with me, an ASE, a Morgan and a WLH. If you want to go somewhere and not think about anything, jump out of a plane. It was like all my senses were one, sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch were all compressed into one. I was more nervous climbing up to altitude than bailing out, sorta bumpy, at one point thought I was gonna blow chunks. Once out, it's all downhill, free fell for 8000 ft. chute pulled at around 5000 ft.

One group misses many of "life's" adventures. However, if John Denver had not been experiencing "life" to its fullest, he may still be alive.
Going again this month. I have to get so many tandem jumps in before I go solo. When I was stationed at Ft. Carson I bungeed off the Royal Gorge Bridge, falling angel ankle jump, I believe it's 900 some odd feet, that was intense. I've tickled with the idea of a superman jump from 60k feet in a wingsuit, that would be the ultimate thrill, I'm a long ways from that.
Out cruising the Tulsa outskirts i rolled up on this 5 acre property with an amusement park scale train set around the property with water crossings a tunnel and switch yard. Mom had just told the Big boys to put their toys up it's
dinnertime.....I'm told to check back at Thanksgiving time and see the Multiple different scales of train sets running thru the entirety of the home..can't wait,,,, best i could do on some quick pictures................

I took that photo about 10 years ago. I did not grow it, when I saw it I had to stop and take a picture. It is the largest one I have ever seen. The flower was as big as a car tire and the plant was about 8 feet high where it started to bend over.
I have a friend that grows some sunflowers, I can see if they have an extra but it won't be as big as the one in the photo.

This fella was by the roadside and let me pull the car up to within four or five feet of him and roll my window down to shoot this. Kept right on munchin', and didn't run away.

I could be there in 45 minutes but haven't seen it for about 40 years.
May be time for a trip.
Old Ironsides predated ironclad warships by a generation or two, as you know. She got that nickname because her tough live oak timbers could deflect a cannonball. Those timbers were cut here on St. Simons Island, Georgia, and were loaded for shipment up north from Gascoigne Bluff, which I drive past on my daily commute.
