Watching this Friday night rerun of a Hawaii Five-O episode from this past season, I caught sight of a prop of which I have a duplicate hanging in my living room.
And the same prop as hanging in my home:
As an aside:
FWIW, against all odds, Hawaii Five-O in its current incarnation continues into a Tenth Season beginning this September of 2019 with its two main characters Steve McGarrett and Danny "Danno" Williams still intact and being played by the same actors, Alex O'Loughlin and Scott Caan.
That is four more seasons than the predecessor Hawaii based TV Series LOST was produced. For at least one principal actor, Jorge Garcia, who was featured on both shows that will add up to 16 consecutive years. He played Hugo "Hurley" Reyes on LOST and currently plays Jerry Ortega on Hawaii Five-O.
On a personal note (as pictured below) I wore a prop three-cornered pirate-like hat in my appearance on Hawaii Five-O. It would have been nostalgic to have been able to retain the hat itself as a memento, but it remained with the show and reportedly was on loan to the producers from a movie studio that had used it and some other costumes in a previous feature film, The Mel Brooks movie, "The Patriot." (This I learned of when an issue arose at the last minute as to whether the owner of the props from the film would allow them to be used on the Hawaii Five-O set and Costuming was getting ready to issue us completely new costumes to replace the ones for which we had already been fitted.)
With that preface, in this evening's broadcast rerun from this past season, I was surprised to see an item used as a prop for which I have a duplicate hanging in my own living room. Pictured above is the prop from the show and the duplicate ironically hanging in my home - offering at least a scintilla of compensation.
