Since it it the eighth day of August, and my 888th post, by way of thanks to you all on the forum, I'm giving away eight lots of coins. Let me know if you want to be in the drawing for some of these dreckige widgets.

    Queen Elizabeth's eldest granddaughter, Princess Beatrice, was born on 8/08/1988.

    I believe that the first night game at Wrigley Field was played on that date too. Or maybe it was scheduled for then, but postponed because of weather. Something like that.

    Maybe if I had planned ahead instead of just digging through my "I have no idea what to do with these" pile. I thought of The Gambia 8 shillings hippo, too, but don't have one at the moment.
