Show Report - Bellaire Show (Houston,TX Area)

The show Aug 3&4 with dealer setup on Aug2. It was in Arabia Shrine Center off Hardin Drive at Beltway 8. Parking was free, outdoors, easy, no problem.
Taking a table at this show I setup Friday evening 08/02. Setup went smoothly and spent some time doing some dealer to dealer business. I purchased some USGTC (slabbed $2.50 Indians)and Commems. There were around 80-100 tables. The show was hosted by the BCC which did an excellent job.
Saturday activity was brisk as I sold some slabbed coins and currency. I brought 150 of my best slabbed coins along with hundreds of US and World Banknotes (many my nicer notes in the $100 of dollars (about 100 graded) more than enough for the 2 display cases I brought. Sunday was busy also although sales sales slower than Saturday.
Highlights (unless stated non CAC) were purchase of some nice PCGS MS63 $20 generic Libs I picked out for $1440 each from major bullion dealer later in the show. Sales wise A MS66 CAC Antietam sold from my table for $850. A PCGS MS66 1935-S Texas went for $260. A 1928 Oregon PCGS 65 CAC brought $300. An 1847 NGC 25 large cent went for $75. Numerous slabbed PCGS 69 ASE, silver pandas and Mexico Onzas went got $35-$40 each. A young married couple bought some of these. Numerous pieces of currency sold both US and World. An 1881-S PCGS 62 $5 Lib sold to a San Antonio customer for $525. A PCGS 1884-CC dollar went for $280. I flipped one of the $20 PCGS 63 Libs purchased above for $1795 to a Baytown investor. Numerous other coins sold in the $50-$125 range. Coins with super cartwheel luster, brilliant white were moving well. There were no significant offerings from the public of slabbed material and this going on for some time. One fellow offered me a 1921 raw AU Alabama 2x2 50c saying 2 other dealers offered him $130. Blue book was $190 (CDN bid $175) but on examination of the coin under a glass it appeared to have been cleaned plus had a staple scratch. On first glance looked nice, raw can be tricky. I passed. Two other dealers setup close to me had passed too.
The show had a snack bar with a good selections. They even gave me a free one time use meal and drink ticket. There was a lot of variety in material at the show one fellow doing booming business 6 world coins for a $1.
Various out of town bourse chairmen gave me apps / flyers setup at their shows. I am considering shows in Amarillo and Colorado Springs.
There was a major numismatic book dealer in the lobby.
Sunday morning on way to show Copy of The CAC Rare Coin Market Review in my POB.

Great report! !! Very thorough. Appreciate the description of coins and prices they brought. Thanks
How many of the 150 best slabbed coins came home with you?
For the varsity It was about an even wash as I did some buying - Commems, Dollars, USG TC. About 100 stayed home mostly lower dollar Value material (redshirts I call them) but many in online store.
I’m packing up Sunday all Cert slab coins filled the 7 slab boxes of slabbedcoins I brought but net 2 increase of numismatic coins and 2 decrease of mod bullion slabbed coins. Total inventory investment increased.
Great report. Thanks for sharing.
Nice report !
That sounds like a fine deal on 63 Twenties !
Thanks for an interesting report.....nice detail. Cheers, RickO
The PCGS 63 $20 Libs I bought for $1440 each now in them for just $22 over melt. That probably the Best Buy at the show.
Those Twenty Libs are looking even better this morning.
I just saw 1500 spot !
2 commem coins purchased at show sold in online store.
Paying 1440 on the PCGS 63 $20 Libs - gold now at $1505 they now melt for $1455! That by far was the best deal in the room and exactly what I was seeking in exploring the bourse. Wish bought a couple more. A quarter oz Pcgs 69 panda bought from another guy about same scenario.
If u got deep pocket book travel reservations to a big show.
Thank you for taking the time to post a very informative report.
