What's Happening With This 1886 Morgan?

This was tossed in as a sweetener as part of negotiations for some other coins. All I have are these photos for now.
My Bowers Morgan book tells me that a lot of '86s were made from tired old dies and perhaps that's what has caused the graininess and the mushy strike? But what's happening in front of Ms Liberty's ear? Thoughts?

Looks pretty normal to me.

I see what looks like raised metal in front of the ear. The lower part of the ear also looks wrong to my eye. Maybe just bag marks that are showing strangely in this particular photo.

Looks like a counterfeit to me.
The collector from whom I’m acquiring the coin will be extremely embarrassed if that’s the case! We’ll find out within a few days...

There's something odd going on in front of the ear. Fred W. is probably correct. Counterfeit is a probability.
The eagles tail is weak too. never saw a real coin like that.
Also something strange by the corner of the mouth...an x and an E...Looks like a counterfeit to me... Cheers, RickO
