How do you ignore post

Is there a button or something?
I’m tired of looking at pocket change!
If they know enough to join this forum they know how to look up information on the internet!

You don't open it! I was going to ignore your post but then I could not give you an answer.
The 'Ignore file' can be found under Profile/Edit Profile area.
The ignore function on this forum has many drawbacks. It needs to be strengthened and expanded.
I too am very very exasperated with all the common pocket change being posted on this forum.
I come here to PCGS Forum expecting to see special coins, not everyday dross.
I looked on your profile and clicked the little man. Then "Ignore" came up. Then I clicked it again. I hope I did not put you on "ignore!" I'm going to send you a PM - that should tell me the answer.
LOL!
OH NO Bill
is ignoring me
! That makes two of my favorite and "special" members for sure...
When you ignore a member, it would be nice if their discussions are ignore too. I have not found a way to ignore the discussion that clutter the page. I don’t open them, but still see them. It may help if you can only start one discussion in a 24 hr period.

I quoted you so maybe he will see this.
really?
so if i show a coin i found in change would that make you all mad? if so you all need to step back from the keyboard and get into the real world and learn not all people know about coins and even looking it up they still have limited understanding and want opinions from people who have been in coin collecting many years

Today the snowflakes are offended by dull threads and excessive posts.
Sad, really.
NO WAY! Some members don't post enough for me and I enjoy each time they do. Too many examples and don't wish to leave anyone out. Besides, when start a discussion with images I often post a few at the same time. It's a "free" forum!
Is there a way to tell if your being ignored so you can ignore them back?
I believe in the First. Maybe someone posts a dull, boring, non-intellectual, dumb comment. Maybe the person just wants to be a part of the discussion. Maybe. I don't have to read it nor do I have to comment about it.
Send a member a PM. It will tell you if they are ignoring you.
There is no reason to ignore knowledgeable members. Some folks get offended when they are challenged and the only solution is to put the challenger on "ignore." Its their personal choice. I put up with the lame attempts at meaningless humor interjected into discussions by one member who ignores me because otherwise he is a valued and knowledgeable poster who provides interesting research. It would be stupid for me to do a tit-for-tat as I would be the loser!
With WiFi it takes a split second to open a thread and if you don’t like the post close it. If the title of a thread doesn’t interest you don’t open it. What may appeal to you might be very uninteresting to someone else. In a hobby with mostly older folks it’s healthy to have new people posting.
Am I considered newer folk at 41?

It works great for those guys who post "to the top" on the BST forum everyday!
To ignore it is To ignore it
Nothing would crawl down under my skin

I just close my eyes and pretend they're not there.

Easy way to ignore posts is to read only your own.
Whoever is careless with the truth in small matters cannot be trusted with important matters.
I like your concept ..... might try it myself
I guessed that's what it means when they said I am full of myself!?

I use:
on my screen so I don't have to see what I do not want to see.

I know several people off line that like to discuss their coin collection and like us they like to show the coins off. Though the coins are what most of us call circulated modern stuff I still give them the opportunity to share. Of course when I share PCGS and CAC coins with them, I see a haze in their eyes and they quickly change the subject.

As mentioned...the only way to "ignore a post" is to just plain ol' ignore it yourself.
You CAN ignore posters via the forum software. I have found very few I would want to put on the ignore function as most have some value. I only have a few ignored as I find no value in them.
Some others make posts that I may not agree with or I just find too much blah blah blah, but that is usually short term, so I just skip by those posts as quick as I can but don't ignore the posters. Some of them end up being banned anyway so ignoring them via software is a waste.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Non of the "theys" making such an outrageous allegation are on this forum from what I can see.

I have never 'ignored' anyone.... and do not think I will....I even had a stalker for a while disagreeing with every post I made...weird. I do not open all threads, and do not comment on every thread I open...If it is not of interest to me, I skip or close and move on....Cheers, RickO
Maybe I should try handling some of these PMD's. After all I have experience in posting those as well.
I'd be like; Yep that's a DD and very rare send it off for grading immediately its probably worth 100 grand
We could all change "handles."

Everything would look fresh.
There’s a way but it’s a little complicated
First post stuff
Some members respond, they aren’t ignoring you
The other members may be
