Hi, everyone. I haven’t searched to see if this has been discussed on the boards, or whether he is a member. Nevertheless, I was fascinated. Saw his story on CBS NewsSunday this morning. He takes pix of presidents on our coins and currency. He has the capability of enlarging images up to 10,000%.

That’s great. I’ve been mentioned that coins should be treated like art to attain the levels of prices are has.

I wonder if Phil’s work could be used this way.

Nothing mildly interesting. The original portrait busts and bas reliefs are far better.

Would be even better if he worked with some higher grade coins. I like the lighting in particular - thanks for posting! :+1:

Interesting art form.... Though the term 'dies' was incorrectly spelled as 'dyes'....And certainly, as Roger pointed out, the original art works are superior....However, this could produce further interest in coins as art, so in that respect, it may have value for the hobby. Cheers, RickO

I'm interested in the actual coinage and the quality of the detail they present. Peace Roy

I'm not a fan of the "art" nor of his political views.

I wonder if he would be receptive to photographing earlier U.S. coinage that predates the dead presidents era?
