ANOTHER Exciting Mantle Submission...GRADES AND PHOTOS ARE IN!!!!

The last one of these was pretty fun. So I decided to ‘live’ post this submission as well. It is going to take a while but that’s ok, too. Fingers crossed and hoping for the best. So, I’m giving the Jumbo’s a go! I decided that I just really like the holder and I thought PSA deserved a nice positive thread. And that’s this one - nothing but positive stuff here. These five items are personal treasures in need of protection so I’m bucking up and getting them done.

I’ll get some more pictures up soon but for starters here’s the 1956 NYY Action Packed:

How do you differentiate the Advisory Staff photos as far as years?

I have some Killebrew's that I am thinking of sending in, but don't know what years they are.

Was there a Mantle in the Manny's set? Is yours graded? How about Team Issued 8x10's?

Yes, that’s an 8x10 team issue in the photo above, it is in the Standard Catalog and it also already has a spec. I think it’s nice, too. One of my favorites even before grading...

PSA has 1950-1970 as the date for the Advisory Staff Mantles (several poses), so I’m guessing Killer’s would be the same. Also, those Mantle’s, too, have a spec already.

There’s a Manny’s. I don’t have it, though.

I come here to be happy for a little while. For whatever reason, I find great peace in dead baseball players on cardboard. I don’t really get upset talking cards and sports online; they’re fun distractions.

Looks like an ALDS preview that’s being played as such.

Twins get Madison Bumgarner, I’d think of them as the favorite. Well balanced and deep team...Nelson Cruz was a GREAT pickup.

I should also mention, @bswhiten has a collection of Mickey Mantle’s that blows mine away. (I’m sure he’s not the only one either but I don’t see anyone else who posts actively sharing much recently).

Back to Ben - He’s on here from time to time and is a great guy and very helpful. Shout out!

The Cruz pickup was indeed a good move. The team has finally added a few players (Odorizzi, Schoop, Cron) who have performed well, along with some regulars who are having good years.

Usually they pick up guys like Logan Morrison, who had one good year and is now in the minors. Who can forget ByungHo Park? He was going to be the next Ichiro only with power.

Funny how the fans were ready to get rid of Sano a couple of weeks ago when he was struggling. No such talk lately!

BTW your welcome for Hicks ;-) that was a move I complained about. Even though Hicks was inconsistent at the plate, he can really go get the ball. He has turned into a FINE player. John Ryan Murphy............not so much. I like Buxton over Hicks, when he can get on the field.

They need some help in the bullpen too. A LOT of talk on the local sports radio station about getting some help for the stretch run. I am beginning to think they are going to "stand pat". These owners are CHEAP! They should be able to pick up a few guys without trading Royce Lewis or Alex Kirilloff.

Twins ownership has been beyond putrid (Hicks trade only one of MANY examples) when adding any player who might increase the payroll. If Berrios or Odorizzi get hurt, we won't be able to win the division, let alone compete with the Yankees in the playoffs.

Have you watched Berrios at all? He's a special pitcher!

Jake and Jose are one of the better 1-2 punches in baseball.

Jose is special. And since the Twins are NOT on the no trade, it’s actually a different game they’re playing that those on his list. You never know...

...though the Giants May stand pat and go for it.

Love the Rawlings picture. The way the glove is situated I wonder if it is to cover the ice pack on his knee. All the stories about how he had to constantly work on them. More likely so the logo is right side up. Very cool photo.

I think both the 1956 and 1960 Action Photo sets were pretty cool. The different fonts give them a real retro feel. I have both full packs and the envelope for one of them; can’t remember which off the top of my head.

As always, I’m excited to see how they do and I’ll be happy when they’re home and holdered. This guy needs friends his own size...

Being there during the National probably increases my wait time some but I’m hopeful they’ll be back for my birthday in late September.

That’s a Jumbo holder, actually. I thought it was much better than a 3 - as has every person who has laid eyes on it - but that’s how it goes sometimes.

What can you do (besides pay more money to the same company to the same company for a ‘second’ opinion)?

Not that my opinion matters but I thought the grades were completely in line with my expectations. With no uncatalogued items, the next sub should go much quicker. I’m considering these 4 among a few others and I’ll probably wait until the new year.
