Easiest Morgan to authenticate, one obverse die was used. I use the diagnostic illustrated below, the 1 will be over the 4th denticle, to the right of the point of the neck truncation. There are other diagnostics, the diagonal die line coming off the T of Liberty and the die chip on the foot of the R of Liberty. The position of the 1 is easiest IMO. Even a grade of G4 will still have this diagnostic, less than this refer to the other diagnostics. I've heard and read the words dentil and denticle used interchangeably so which is it?
A drill would help... I will lend you my Black and Decker with a 5/32 drill unless you you prefer something larger.

For this particular example I didn't need a diagnostic, I knew just by the lack of detail.
