I'm embarrassed at all this Postal Service stuff. I retired in 2006 with 36 years service. The Government has been sucking the Postal Service profits dry almost ever since I started in August, 1970.
No one understands. The Post Office was never designed to make any money. It was a Department of the Government for cryin' out loud!
If the Postal Service of today looses money it was DESIGNED to be that way.
Private express statues mean NOTHING! UPS sucked the profitable parcel business away long ago. UPS doesn't deliver to EVERY address in the USA. Just the profitable ones. If a package needs to get sent to an address that exists on the edge of a mountaintop accessible to mule or a cost losing entity, guess who delivers it.
I'm done. The damage caused is NEAR unfix able.

UPS and FEDEX are the worst. I will take my USPS anytime over the other two. Especially with the great folks I have at my little, local USPS office.
FWIW UPS drivers aren't supposed to make left turns.
I have seen where a registered package left Des Moines at 7:30 am so I expect it here around 9. The window guy says they don't get registered until after 3 pm so the delivery vehicle makes stops at other places along the way. Could be in your case that they are scanning and entering the master list for the bag at each stop. You might want to visit your PO and see what the hell is going on.
