So, I bought a hoard ... this , and a few other strange looking anomalies are in the batch. The old woman had these separated from the rolls and rolls of Mercury dimes. I'll post a couple more stranger things, later.
Might be interesting to know if anyone attached to these worked in an industrial setting. Torches, high voltage sparks....Maybe some experimentation during times of boredom??

Yet, as a seller on eBay... this looks like an added benefit to buyers who are not sure if what they're buying is "questionable" or "gradeable".
Wow! I suggested this concept to PCGS months ago. I am glad someone is doing a photo review. Clever of them to implement this, as it will create a lot more brand recognition for the folks ATS.

I like the torch idea. Looks like melting and moving of metal in a stream of gasses....
Problem is, I'd expect some charring...which I guess could have been scrubbed off.

This one looks like heat. Note round silver granules. First is excessive whizzing. It builds up "waves" as these.
A couple of cents which were separate from their flock, too.
