    Clashes as strong as yours are uncommon on the Shield Cents.

    This specific clash has been seen in 2018’s nice catch. They are unusual to find this pronounce

    Machinery moving at the feed rate as coining presses do are bound to miss a planchet and transfer some opposing details to the other die. Nice find. Most folks normally do not give cents a second look.

    I will keep an eye out for them. Thanks. I will post more of my finds. Sure is a struggle trying to find these varieties and errors on coins. Especially in circulation. Lot off work and patience.

    Come to think about it.........it is similar in that it looks somewhat like the Memorial "Prisoner Cent" die clash.
