Bust Quarter Newp

Picked this up at a recent coin show. Wasn’t looking for anything in particular, but the nice subtle colors on the obverse caught my eye. Thoughts? Worth slabbing? I’m thinking it’s an F15 - VF20 tweener.

It has a nice look. Looks like a B-1, R-1 so a common die variety. Your choice to slab it may depend on your long term goals for it, i.e. sell or keep.

Very nice! I’d probably go with VF20. In case you care about die marriages, it is B-1, which is one of the more common marriages for this date.
Nice old Bust Quarter.
Very nice VF!!
That is a nice old coin, shows a lot of commerce...One wonders who may have held it during it's commercial life. Cheers, RickO
Nice coin!
Nice circulated look.
A nice Fine or so.
Great looking quarter! And I think you got the grade just right at 18, although I think it gets the 20 at pcgs for the look.
Sounds crazy but I’d actually vote for breaking it out of the 2x2 and keeping it raw for a while in a flip. In this age of slabs it’s really cool to hold a raw circ, look at all 3 sides and imagine the path it took to your hand.
Nice. I think it might holder at VF20. The surfaces look like they may have been cleaned at some point, but it doesn't detract and many of them have been cleaned. That said, I'd keep it raw. I like the look and wouldn't feel bad handling it... enjoy!

Nice quarter I like it
I see it as a 12 shot 15 if the TPG's like the originality....tis a nice coin.
Thanks. I’ve thought about doing that. Love coins in their raw form. Have also considered creating a 7070 Dansco type album, but wouldn’t be willing to crack coins out to fill it and don’t want to play raw coin roulette with the higher value issues.
Wholesome, original piece.
I like it!
Used, but not abused. A nice coin.
Very nice look to it. VF-20 looks about right.
I took your suggestion and broke it out of the 2x2 and put it in a flip. There’s just something about being able to handle the coin by its edge and study all 3 sides. You can really feel the historical connection when handling it. Raw form also makes for great pictures. Took these pics with my I phone under a 40 watt incandescent bulb. No filters or edits. The coin’s colorful toning really pops.

Much nicer out of the 2x2.
