The toning looks good to me but I wouldn’t pay up for the coin.
Ugh my opinion is I would not it even with any toners I sell!
I like the coin but would not pay a big premium.
Should sell for $150-175ish.
I am guessing sub $200. I think it's nice looking, but not the big money colors.
Looks overgraded. Color is only exciting if you get the coin for book value and the color comes in for free.

Just a common date Morgan in the wrong holder. Getting it into the right holder will cost money.
$150 would be strong retail IMHO.

With all that light on it I bet it's dark in hand and not impressive at all!
My opinion is useless as it's already a bit past what I would have expected.
Toning took a wrong turn.............or maybe the toning is a negative. I would not evenb waste my $100 on this coin because I would never be able to resell it to recoup my $100 in ten years. BTW....I am not a dealer, and my stupid purchases seem to never get liquidated. Just one of many reminders that I need to focus on my day job.
I appreciate your post as I have chased similar coins in series that I collect. Just $$ going nowhere.

Just an average toner, not bad but nothing special. The only thing "monster" about it might be a possible stupid bid price.

Based on the photos I would not pay a toning premium for that coin.

That’s still a 21% premium on the PCGS Price Guide. Since this is ANACS, the color premium is even higher.
There are many collectors that place the old ANACS holdered coins (for cheaper coins anyway - obviously the more expensive the more suspicion as to why it isn't in top tier plastic) on the same playing field as NGC and PCGS.
Yes, there are collectors for those so that could be a factor here.

The plastic holder is immaterial. I simply see no added interest or value from the toning/tarnish.
That's a fair assessment generally for higher valued coins, but I am referring to cheaper coins. Common date Morgan Dollars are super common even in gem and superb gem. The PCGS/NGC difference is negligible when it is observable at all. I do not think the instant coin (an 1886-P in gem) would have fetched significantly more in a PCGS/NGC holder if the price would have been different at all. Even if it were a CAC PCGS/NGC coin, I don't think the price would have been that much more.

thank you for your opinion. you expressed that opinion by not bidding on the coin, others expressed their opinion that there is in fact "added interest or value" to the toning/tarnish by bidding on the coin. as Zoins pointed out, 21% past PCGS guide price on an ANACS coin is pretty good. I suspect that the color really looks good if it could be photographed by one of the forum guys who knows how to use lighting, especially the reverse. a PCGS same grade crossover with a TrueView would likely humble the current sale price.
of course, that is just my opinion.
It sold for $158 or something like that.
