    Please refrain from politicizing the Fourth of July by posting the above round flag as it is in defiance by the right against Nike for pulling the shoe as it offends people of slavery decent.

    I KNOW you guys are doing on purpose, please do not be political....

    What you state is true.

    Also, know that the right wing has co-opted that flag now and when some people see one displaying it they may think that person is right-wing which is your right.

    So, in fact, that flag has become political and the 4th of July should not be.

    Some facts about Elizabeth Claypoole, better known as Betsy Ross:

    Betsy Ross did not own slaves and was not a racist.

    She was a successful independent businesswoman, and a Patriot.

    Betsy Ross was a prominent member of the Philadelphia Free Quakers, whose members include those who were disowned from other churches for their support of the American Revolution. The Free Quakers helped the poor in Philadelphia, financially and in other ways (I have extensively researched original Free Quaker records at the American Philosophical Society, including Mint officers and workers).

    There is no record of Betsy Ross ever designing the "Betsy Ross Flag" but it is an early flag design that represents early America.

    I purchased my Betsy Ross flag from Humphrys Flag Store in Philadelphia years ago, they moved to Philadelphia in 1864 from New York, and have been selling Betsy Ross Flags ever since.

    I do not intend to remove my image from this post, or the flag from my house.

    It is a fact that there are 4 round flags in this post already ( Including a newly changed avatar)

    I honestly have not seen a round flag since high school some 4O years ago.

    The Nike controversy just happen.

    I highly doubt it is a coincidence, but we will see and I will give You the benefit of the doubt.
