Somebody better go first...
Charcoal-grilled Beyond Meat burgers with vegan cheese, a thick slab of heirloom tomato, Boston bib lettuce, onions, pickles, vegan mayo on a whole wheat bun. Potato salad, chips, followed by homemade strawberry pie with vegan whipped topping.
And probably a few of these. Why not at $22 a six pack?

Have a nice 4th, Weiss and EOC
Hamburgers, hot dogs, barbequed ribs, potato salad. Olives, sliced carrots and celery. Cold broccoli. Lots of onion and sour cream dip. The kids will put the olives on their fingertips. Remember that? Potato Chips....yuk! Somebody is sure to bring enchalidas. Probably no good. Pinto beans. Nobody will eat the beans. The coyotes will enjoy them at about 3 a.m. on July 5. The lovely Mrs. Hydrants deviled eggs. About two dozen. They go as fast as hot cakes at a Lions club breakfast at the city park. Remember that? Then....the good stuff. Homemade vanilla icecream. Handcranked. Lots of rock salt. Kids with their hands freezing in the water. Remember that? And then....and then......Homemade Angel food cake with the ice cream soaked in strawberry juice with sliced strawberries and powdered sugar on top.!!!!!! At that point.....help me sweet BABY JESUS!!!!!
Nobody drinks much around here except yours truly. And I heard today that a lighting strike in Louisville, Kentucky sent up 45,000 barrels of my favorite rot gut to heaven bound. Glad I'm stocked up. I will be sipping Jimmy Beam. On the sly.
By the way, number 11 Hydrant grandbaby was born today. Baby boy. Born in Idaho. God's country. So we have that to celebrate, along side this; The United States of America is the greatest country EVER on this planet. Let's all be thankful. Thank God. Thank our ancestors. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
From where I'm sitting you are multitudes to the good with the newest Grand Son.
That event puts the Beam story where it belongs, on the back burner and the
gas turned off . Your next assignment is to pack up the Conestoga wagon and
head toward Idaho. No excuses. Safe travels and spoil the little one.
Nathan’s dogs are goood! No way I could do that contest.
Steak, baked potatoes, onions, mushrooms, corn on cob, parade, fireworks..... Cheers, RickO
Love Nathan dogs with their fries on th side. Would scarf them down before Cyclones games at the original Stand in Coney island. Very close second are boars head natural casing dogs IMHO.
Best to all for the 4th.
Have to go to the store to decide but maybe skirt steaks and bbq chicken or whatever looks good at the butcher. Prob grilled peppers and corn. Booze and fireworks battle with the neighbors maybe, tunes on the deck.
Edit to add: Cuban cigars I brought back from Spain
Gonna try smoking ribs all day. Me and the wife are gonna work outside today. I’m building a fire pit and she’s weeding the garden. Relax tonight and maybe walk down to the river front to watch the fireworks. Happy 4th to everyone and be safe if you’re traveling.
Visited Nathans during a family vacation in 1970's. I skipped the hot dogs for a dozen oysters.
It is soo Amazing that one can go down to the corner store and buy this exact Hybrid, which is so tasty
.
True Freedom on the 4th
Agreed, oysters and dogs a bit of a stretch but I've been known to do a dozen little necks with them. However it was quite a few years ago. LOl> @Coinstartled said:
So far I just had a donut with red, white, and blue sprinkles at Dunkin.

Break time! Nice weather for a shandy but I’m thinking an IPA for now. Chase it with a milk chocolate Ike.
My good food and drink day will be tomorrow. Busy with a concert tonight, so dinner will be something light and portable. Beer in the fridge for when I get home at around 11 is an assortment of Two Brothers brews, not this:

Well this was from the Canada Day weekend just past. The entree is a Mushroom Pot Pie, a specialty there at Vancouver's Granville Island Market:

Burgers, corn on the cob and macaroni salad.
Drinking coke today.
An old college friend will be here tomorrow. He is traveling 2500 miles and I haven't seen him in 3 years. I am waiting to drink beer with him.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Ok, Tee'd off on the golf course at 5:46 am and had a nice Ashton cigar. Came home to relax and in a bit I'll start the grill, burgers, brats, macaroni salad, chips, and probably a glass of wine paired with another cigar while we sit on the front porch and watch the fireworks.... Happy 4th my friends and God Bless America!!!!
PS.. currently watching Stranger Things 3!!!

Well, Tibor that was my plan long ago. But plans change. I'm an old rancher stuck down here in SoCal. Six generations on this place. Last of the Mohicans. It's paradise. Seven little Hydrants here and four now in Idaho. I miss the Idaho group every day but that's life. In two weeks we'll be loading up and heading north. For a visit that will be to short. The kiddies down here can't wait to go. I'll head over to Jackson Hole, see some old friends and look at the Tetons. The West is beautiful. I'll miss it when I'm gone. Got to appreciate what you have and be happy. Enjoy life my friends. It's all we've got.
Burgers of many varieties, corn on the cob, watermelon, strawberries, cantaloupe, grapes, ice cream cones. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things.
OK, here is lunch fare from today on the 4th. Tuna/Egg Salad may not be tradtional, but the red tomatoes add a splash of patriotic color. Bridging the gap until tonight's burgers from the grill.
Wife just got off of work.
Hawaii crescent rolls, baby brussel sprouts, asparagus, corn on the cob, home made sweet potato chips, portabello mushrooms, and chuck steak.
