Now wait a minute - New discussion on another thread about alleged scratch on Columbian Expo 50c

In the above GTG thread, an "alleged" scratch was pointed out on the obverse in the hair. The coin in the original post is mine. I even commented that I hadn't even noticed the "scratch" until it was pointed out. I got to looking around and found that all 1892 Columbian Expo Halves have this same "scratch", making it not a scratch but part of the design.
The first coin is mine from the original thread. The three coins following it are three different coins.
Please tell me what you think.

Scratch or part of the design or die.
With the subsequent pics of other coins @MWallace it appears it is not a post mint scratch. IMO
I'm not seeing the scratch on mine.
Yeah, sure. Next you're going to tell me that all of the Peace Dollars have TRVST misspelled, and mine is no longer special???
Good post and interesting.... the scratch that is not a scratch....Thanks for the clarification. Cheers, RickO
That was just the way he combed his hair.

Trumpian comb over.
Good eyes all around, first to see it, then to debunk it.
That is how fresh this coin is - that hair detail was so sharp it looked like a scratch.
Now a new explanation for the miserly 65 is needed...

Yeah, what he said.
Impaired luster
The coin has really nice cartwheel luster in hand.
I'll bet it's a real beauty in hand.
It is and I'm happy to have it in my collection.
I must agree. The scratches on the second two coins are much worse than Mike's.

This Commem is one of my favorite Commem's. I have been looking for one of the RPD's for my Variety Type set.
Mine too. I also collect exonumia made from Columbian Expo Halves. Love tokens, counterstamped, made into jewelry, lockets, etc. I even have a very cool piece that was made into a cigar cutter. Very few of those known. In all, I have well over 100 pieces in the collection.
That sounds very neat. You should do a thread on those with pics!
I'll pick out some of the better pieces and try to do that soon.
