    @Batman23 Those are very nice examples of Garnet Crystals in Mica Schist matrix that look like the type found in the Fort Wrangell, Alaska area.

    Spot on! You know your crystals. The Wrangell garnet shape is very distinctive.

    I can't remember whether I collected insects or rocks 1st when I was a kid. All it cost was time and met my budget as a youngster!

    @Rooster1 Those Septarian Nodules really brighten up to look beautiful when carved or slabbed, and then polished!😁👍 (Not my Specimens)

    I would love to find a fossil shell. I have found sea urchins and oyster shells here in South Texas but nothing compares to those.

    Ahhh yes, the classic leverite find!! For those not in the know, these are finds that you should “leave her right there” as not being collectible. Found many small pieces of petrified wood and broken shells on the beach that meet this definition.
