Now that '64D is what defines blast white and luster..... Both are nice coins Jon... Cheers, RickO
I seem to recall that the long time dealer, the late Harry Forman was a major promoter of those back in the 60's.
They were heavily promoted back then, by Harry Forman
and others, like F.J. Volmer.
As a 14 year-old, I remember going thru all my '64 dimes
looking for them - I think the Blunt Tail 9 was the most
common, but not sure.
Easily seen difference.

Yes, the blunt tail is the common. I am trying to get the pointed tail varieties in the CPG and thus into the PCGS Registry.
Great looking pieces, Jon.👍🏻👍🏻
I remember when these were all the rage back in the '60s. The pointed tail proof was pretty scarce as I remember.
I still have my pointed 9. I sold my accented hair Kennedy that was in the same set.

@DIMEMAN any idea what percentage are the Pointed 9?
I got these numbers from Richard's Roosies site:
1964-P:
Pointed - 2M
Blunt - 927M
1964-D:
Pointed - 40M
Blunt - 1.3B
So, about 3% of the 1964-Ds, and far less of the 1964-Ps: about 0.2%. Thanks for the info ...
PS What is Richard's Roosies?
Kind regards,
George
It's a site that has a lot of info about Roosevelt Dimes including photo's of a lot of the varieties.
Got a link?
