Bought a $500 box of half dollars last fall. We give them out for Halloween. Anyways, I've been slowly returning them to the Coinstar. As yet, no 90%, no 40%, not even any proof issues. I'm down to my last $50 - and this one shows up all alone in a roll. My first Walker in the wild!

Collect raw morgans, walkers, mercs, SLQ, barber q. Looking at getting into earlier date coins pre 1900s.

Thanks, all! Yeah, Coinstar covers my Amazon purchases. I also give halves to the grandkids as part of their birthday and Christmas money, and I do leave them as tips and so on. I love these big American coins - for no practical reason at all!
I used to work at Kroger in the 1980's Someone in my checkout line once paid with two very worn SLQ quarters (maybe G or VG). I suspect the likelihood of finding something like the OP did is much lower now.
