David "Big Papi" Ortiz was shot in the Dominican Republic
last nite. Expected to make full recovery, according to local press.
Prayers for Big Papi and his family.

    I hope he is ok. I Enjoyed watching him step into the batters box. I love listening to his analysis before the World Series games. Always a pleasure to hear him speak. He has a great personality.

    the operation lasted six hours and was performed by three doctors, led by Dr. Abel Gonzalez. The team had to remove part of Ortiz's intestines and colon, as well as his gallbladder. Ortiz suffered liver damage.

    I love the ESPN commercial with him, the Yankees hat and the mascot.

    It appears in a video, yes it looks like an assassination attempt. the suspect did not even try to rob him. Rather, he just straight up shot him in the back. Also it appears the suspect was beaten badly by a crowd following the incident
