US Mint Loyalty Program

DotStoreDotStore Posts: 782 ✭✭✭✭

For several months I've been using their Loyalty Program for Free Budget shipping ($4.95)

But this morning I noticed an order I was trying to place no longer deducts the Budget Shipping charge of $4.95.

Did anyone else lose their Loyalty Program Free Shipping?

Did you check to make sure you were still logged in at checkout?

I just went in to try it and see. I signed in. I put an item in my cart. I went to checkout and there was no free shipping, BUT then I noticed it had also logged me out. When I logged back in on the cart page, it took the shipping fee off.

Yes. I actually re-booted my computer, signed in and tried to order an Uncirculated Set. everything is correct in terms of Shipping and Billing Address. I also tried two different browsers (Chrome and Firefox), and then also tried a different computer (my laptop).

Did you try the “DAD” code?

    suggest you call the Mint.

I did not try that code until just now, and it worked for 2-Day Shipping for $4.95. But when I removed the code, and put in Budget Shipping, it still wants to charge me $4.95 (instead of FREE Budget Shipping like my prior 10+ orders in April/May/June)>

Also, just got off the phone with the Mint, and they confirmed it is not working, but they don't know why as they see 10+ orders that had free budget shipping. So the CS person submitted a form to have their tech support look at the problem. Was told it should be fixed within 48 hours...

I guess it's specific to my account since it is still working for others...

    Probably just a computer glitch.

Hopefully they get it fixed quick. If not, you can still order and be charged shipping then call and they’ll reverse the charge. I’ve had to do it a couple times awhile back, painless, except the wait on the phone as they figure out what to do.

I cannot find the expiration for the DAD shipping special in the email but will assume it is Fathers Day.

There is nothing I want right now. Hmm... going to go look again.

I have never gotten free shipping from the Mint.

The current deal at the mint is 4.95 for 2 day shipping. They are not doing budget shipping during the promotion.

Did you sign up for it?

After signing up for the loyalty program online call CS and request a refund for all postage after the third order since Jan 1st.

How many orders have you had with the mint this calendar year?

    From the FAQ's:

As a special thank you to our most loyal customers, we would like to introduce you to the United States Mint Loyalty Program. When you make three or more purchases, you’ll enjoy free shipping on all future orders placed the same year.

You don't have to sign up for anything, it should be automatic, so long as you have a registered account.

There is something else that needs to be done for the loyalty program free shipping...

    Found it.

“You need to have a Mint customer account and be subscribed to the Product & Promotion Updates email. Be sure to log into the same account for all your purchases.”

Got to get “spammed.” :D Actually the emails aren’t that bad.

Did you by chance disable your email up dates from the Mint?

Good thought (I never purposely updated anything). I just checked under my Communication Preferences and that box already had a checkmark in it.
